A large single cast-iron urn with dragon handles, the body of the urn ornamented with the classical scenes Apollo pursuing Daphne and Apollo slaying the Python (here, and often, portrayed as a dragon) possibly French, ca. 1900. On an associated columnar carved limestone base, English, ca. 1860. Overall height 58.5 ins. Urn 30 ins. high, 28 ins. overall width, 14.5 ins. diameter of opening, 11 ins. diameter of base; pedestal 28.5 ins. high, 17 ins. diameter at top.
