A cast-iron gothic revival seat, the back and arms pierced with tracery and quatrefoils and with hexagon pierced seat, the legs joined by stretchers, English,American or French, 1860-1870.
This pattern was first cast by James Yates (1798-1881) at his Effingham Works iron foundry in Rotherham, England. It was subsequently copied in France by the Val d’Osne foundries and in the United States by Janes, Kirtland & Company (among other American foundries).
