Item #05358
A wrought-iron seat with repeating arc motif on the back and basketweave seat, by Joseph J. Leinfelder & Sons, Lacrosse, WI, ca. 1935.
33.5 ins. high, 45 ins. wide, seat depth 15 ins., seat height 16 ins.
This particular pattern appears in the Leinfelder catalogues of 1935 and 1936. The 1936 catalogue describes the design: “Slim arcs of wire are decoratively reinforced at the center to make [seat] backs and table-top of this smart ensemble”.
Barbara says, “This company created some of the most lovely, lyrical garden seats—wrought-iron production in the 20s and 30s in America was at its peak—I particularly love the woven seats that the Leinfelders made.
